Profile

My life experiences – private and professional – centres around five main areas.

  1. Qigong and Taiji
I’m a dedicated student of Taijiquan and Qigong. Half of my life I’ve been practicing Taijiquan and various Qigong and Yangsheng forms. Since 2015 I’ve been studying Wudangshan Taiji and Qigong forms in Beijing, Wudangshan and Frankfurt (Xuanwu Pai) and participated in community health care for elderly people.
  2. China and intercultural competence
I hold a master degree in Chinese Studies and Ethnology from the University of Tübingen, Germany. I love international teams and most of my professional life I’ve been working in multinational surroundings.
  3. Communication and internet
After graduating from university I worked as a press officer and online editor at the Ministry for Education, Research and Culture for six years covering classical press work as well as internet communication.
  4. Trade fair management and sustainability
I’ve been working for the German trade fair organiser Messe Frankfurt since 2000 in various positions such as  developing, marketing and organizing trade fairs. Since 2008  I’ve specifically been focusing on textiles and sustainability, currently one of the most important issues of the global textile industry. Since 2012 I’m project director of Ethical Fashion Show Berlin and Greenshowroom. Furthermore, I’ve been organizing seminars, conferences and showcases related to sustainability in China and Europe.
  5. We are not fighting for nature, we are nature defending itself
Sustainable lifestyle, environmental protection, consuming in a way that is good for oneself and for the environment has always been part of my life. When I was 16 years old I came across the book „The Limits to Growth“ which expressed exactly what I felt at that time: something fundamental must be changed, it’s not only a change of legislation, it’s not only a change of economy, it’s a change of mindset and culture and the way we think about nature. We are part of nature, when we protect nature we protect ourselves. We are one with nature and we are connected with all beings on earth. I keep thinking this up to this day.
